BY A STAFF REPORTER: Following an altercation with the cops, BJP MP Locket Chatterjee was detained by the West Bengal police while heading towards Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas on 23rd February, Friday.
Moreover, Locket Chatterjee was leading a BJP delegation towards unrest-hit Sandeshkhali. Subsequently, Chatterjee got into an altercation with a lady police officer as the delegation was stopped from entering Sandeshkhali.
Moreover, WB BJP President Sukanta Majumdar was also detained by the police as he sat in protest on Thursday evening in Sandeshkhali.
A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar. While others have been arrested, Shahjahan Sheikh remains absconding.
