The much-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has officially begun, marking the tournament's return after an eight-year hiatus. Pakistan is hosting the majority of the matches; however, due to security concerns, India's fixtures have been relocated to Dubai. The Indian team is poised to kick off their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Stadium.
In a recent statement, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla conveyed optimism about India's performance in the tournament. "Our team is in full form and playing with determination," Shukla remarked. "I am confident that we will win both tomorrow's match and the match with Pakistan on 23rd February. We will reach the finals of the tournament."
The absence of star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has been sidelined due to a back injury, has raised concerns among fans and analysts. Bumrah's injury, sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, has been a significant blow to the team's bowling lineup. Despite this setback, Shukla remains positive, stating, "There is no doubt that Bumrah's absence will have an impact. Our three bowlers and four spinners will perform very well."
