While the Olympics are the largest and oldest multi-sport global event on Earth, other big-name events such as the Asian Games, European Games, and Pan American Games are held at the continental level. In short, these games are organized on the basis of geographical structure, but the Commonwealth Games is different from this and it is very similar to history. 

The inspiration for the Commonwealth Games came from the Inter-Empire Championship held in London in 1911. The event was a part of the empire's celebration to celebrate the coronation of King George V. However, it is not considered an official Commonwealth Games version. The first official Commonwealth Games were then known as the British Empire Games. It was held in Hamilton, Canada in 1930. In 1930, the Commonwealth Games started on August 16 and ended on the 23rd.
