New Delhi | Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government, alleging that liquor is being sold under a "buy one, get one free" scheme in the state. He accused the ruling party of promoting alcohol sales while remaining silent on the issue.
“In Baba ji’s (Yogi’s) rule, BJP is offering a second bottle free with every liquor purchase. Where are the RSS and BJP leaders hiding now? This is the real liquor scam happening in UP. Why is there silence all around? Liquor is being sold with a 'buy one, get one free' offer in UP, yet no one is raising their voice against it. RSS and BJP should answer for this today,” Singh said in a statement.
The remarks have intensified political tensions, with opposition parties accusing the BJP of hypocrisy on morality and governance. Meanwhile, BJP leaders have yet to respond to the allegations.
The issue is expected to spark further debate, with AAP and other opposition parties likely to press for accountability from the UP government.
