Haldwani: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the closing ceremony of the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, praised the exceptional performances by athletes, stating that several national records were set in shooting, weightlifting, and athletics. He emphasized that these achievements have strengthened India's prospects of winning medals at international events.
The event marked the ceremonial handover of the National Games flag from host Uttarakhand to Meghalaya, which will organize the 39th edition. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has announced a unique initiative to involve all seven northeastern states in hosting different sports disciplines of the next games, promoting regional collaboration and sports development.
