Gangtok, Sikkim: In a historic first, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi presided over the Army Commanders' Conference (ACC) in Gangtok, Sikkim, marking the first time the conference is being held outside Delhi. The strategic location of the conference reflects its significance in addressing national security concerns.
The ACC is being conducted in a hybrid format, with the first phase in Gangtok and the second phase set to take place in New Delhi on October 28-29. The primary objectives of the conference include reviewing current operational preparedness, discussing critical strategies, and outlining future directives for the Indian Army.
The Indian Army, in a statement, highlighted the emphasis of the conference on various aspects of national security as well as the integration of technological advancements into the armed forces, underscoring the importance of modernizing the Army's capabilities in light of evolving security challenges.
