As the 2024 Haryana elections approach, former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot expressed strong confidence in his party’s victory. Speaking at a public gathering, Gehlot predicted that Congress would win the upcoming elections with a "thumping majority," highlighting that the people of Haryana have already made up their minds.
Gehlot criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he termed as "complete misgovernance" during their 10-year rule in the state. According to the senior Congress leader, the governance during the BJP’s time has left much to be desired, and the people are yearning for change.
“There was complete misgovernance during the BJP's 10-year rule. However, things were completely different during the Congress' rule,” Gehlot remarked, contrasting the current situation with the time when Congress held power in Haryana.
Gehlot’s remarks reflect the heightened anticipation ahead of the state elections, where the Congress party is positioning itself as the key alternative to the BJP. His statements also come as part of the party’s broader efforts to galvanize support and highlight what they view as the failures of the BJP government, both at the state and national levels.
As campaigning heats up in the run-up to the 2024 Haryana elections, the political landscape is set for fierce competition between the two main parties.
