Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Orunodoi 3.0 today, expanding the state’s flagship financial assistance program. The initiative aims to include additional beneficiaries, ensuring 37 lakh families receive Rs 1,250 per month.
In a tweet following the launch, CM Sarma said, “I joined my mothers and sisters from 126 constituencies to kickstart Orunodoi 3, to include additional beneficiaries and ensure 37 lakh families receive Rs 1,250/month in the State.”
Orunodoi 3.0 is designed to provide financial relief to economically disadvantaged households, especially focusing on empowering women in the state. The scheme has been a cornerstone of the Assam government's efforts to improve the livelihood of its citizens by offering direct cash transfers to support essential household needs.
