Biren facing revolt after BJP losses in Manipur, party might split if he is not replaced.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The knives are out in Manipur after dismal show by the NDA and BJP at the Centre. The BJP has almost lost both the outer and inner Manipur seats to the Congress. Chief minister N Biren Singh had personally selected the two candidates and monitored their campaign. According to latest trends the BJP candidate and ally are trailing heavily against their Congress rivals.

Both Meitei and Kukis along with political parties like the Congress had squarely blamed Biren Singh for the deteriorating law and order scenario over the past few months.

ANM News have learnt that majority of the BJP legislators including a few ministers wants Biren to be replaced immediately or else they will quit the party and bring down the government. ``Either Biren has to go or else we will quit the party and bring down the government. We will not tolerate step motherly atitude of the BJP leaders at the Centre,'' a senior BJP leader of Manipur who belong to anti Biren Singh camp said.
