New Delhi: BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb expressed his support for the Election Commission's recent decision to extend the Haryana assembly election date from October 1 to October 5. Speaking to reporters, Deb highlighted the significance of the move, particularly for the Bishnoi community, which has a major festival during the initial election date.

"The Election Commission has a duty to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their vote," Deb said. "At the time initially scheduled for the election, the main festival of the Bishnoi community takes place. By extending the election date, the Election Commission is enabling maximum participation in the democratic process, and we welcome this decision wholeheartedly."
