Bhuj, Gujarat: The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 11 packets of suspected narcotics weighing approximately 11 kg from a remote island near the Jakhau Coast in Bhuj, Gujarat. The seizure is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the BSF, since June 2024, a total of 261 packets of suspected narcotics have been recovered from various remote islands off the Jakhau coast, indicating a significant rise in attempts to smuggle illegal substances through these coastal areas.
The recent recovery comes amid heightened vigilance by the BSF in Gujarat's coastal regions, where narcotics smuggling has been a growing concern. Remote islands off the Jakhau coast have increasingly been used as drop-off points for drug trafficking operations.
