Mysuru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded to criticism from Union Minister Pralhad Joshi regarding the state government's decision to withdraw the 2022 Hubballi riot case. The Chief Minister clarified that the withdrawal was done in accordance with the discretion of a sub-committee headed by the state Home Minister.

"The Home Minister headed this sub-committee, and the complaint was withdrawn as per the discretion of the committee. However, I will get more information on this issue," Siddaramaiah stated when questioned about the matter. The case withdrawal has been a contentious issue, with the BJP raising concerns about the decision.

Taking aim at the BJP, Siddaramaiah accused the party of using the issue for political gain, saying, "BJP fights only on false ideas." He dismissed the opposition's criticism, implying that their arguments are based on misinformation and political opportunism.
