Mumbai — Reacting strongly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent remark questioning why Congress does not name a Muslim chief, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar condemned the comment as communal and politically motivated.

In his response, Wadettiwar emphasized that such statements are not conducive to national unity, saying, "We expect the Prime Minister to refrain from making communal comments. People are seeing their politics, and it is only for votes. We also have a question – will they make a Muslim person chief of RSS and BJP? This is not done. Talking like this is wrong."

Wadettiwar further expressed his belief that such remarks were inappropriate and dangerous for the country’s secular fabric. His statement highlights concerns within Congress about attempts to polarize communities for electoral gains, a sentiment that has been echoed by party leaders in recent times.
