Congress MP Kumari Selja has indicated her interest in running for the Haryana Assembly elections but made it clear that the ultimate decision will be made by the party's high command. Speaking about her aspirations, Selja stated, "It is my wish (to contest the Haryana assembly elections) but the final decision will be of the party's high command."

Selja, a long-time member of the Congress party, underlined the importance of the high command’s endorsement in determining the party's leadership. "Being a true soldier of the Congress, I can tell you that the one who gets the blessings of the high command becomes the Chief Minister," she said, emphasizing the party’s internal decision-making process.

She acknowledged that there may be several contenders for the role, but affirmed that the final approval and decision regarding the chief ministerial candidate will rest with the high command. This statement reflects the ongoing discussions and internal dynamics within the Congress party as it prepares for the upcoming elections in Haryana.
