Indore, Madhya Pradesh — Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has strongly criticized the BJP and its affiliate organizations for allegedly spreading hate and causing riots, in light of the recent violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal. In a statement, Singh raised concerns over the administration's approval of hate-promoting processions, specifically questioning why certain groups, which have been linked to rioting and hate speech, are allowed to march with loudspeakers and DJ systems in front of mosques.

"What is the reason that some organizations, which spread hate and riots, are permitted to take out processions with DJ systems in front of mosques? Why does the administration give permission for such things?" Singh asked, emphasizing that the lack of adherence to Supreme Court guidelines is to blame for the escalating violence. He further accused the "double-engine" government of promoting division and animosity.

Singh stated, "The government needs to follow SC guidelines to prevent such riots. The BJP and the Sangh’s mentality is to spread hate and create violence for political gain. Slowly, people are understanding that they have nothing to do with religion, but only aim to divide the country."

He went on to draw a stark historical comparison, asserting that the ideology responsible for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi continues to persist in the actions of BJP leaders. “The same ideology that led to the killing of Mahatma Gandhi is still alive. Their MPs and professors calling Nathuram Godse a patriot is shameful. A person who killed Mahatma Gandhi can never be a patriot; he is a traitor,” Singh concluded.
