Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has welcomed the Karnataka High Court’s decision to dismiss the CBI's plea in the illegal assets case. Expressing his contentment, Shivakumar stated that the ruling represents a victory for both the Karnataka government and its citizens.

"I am happy. It is the victory of the Karnataka government and the people of Karnataka," Shivakumar said. He clarified that while the government withdrew permission for the CBI to handle the case, it has not been withdrawn altogether but rather transferred to the Lokayukta for further investigation.

"The Karnataka government has not withdrawn the case. They have just transferred it to Lokayukta," he added, underscoring that the case remains under scrutiny, albeit under a different investigative authority.

The decision has been seen as a significant development in the ongoing legal and political landscape in Karnataka, reflecting the complexities of managing high-profile investigations and the state's stance on handling such cases.
