West Bengal: BJP leader Dr. Anirban Ganguly has strongly criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the recently passed anti-rape bill in the West Bengal Assembly. Dr. Ganguly pointed out that TMC has been in power since 2011 and highlighted several incidents of violence against women during this period.

"The 2012 Park Street case, Hanskhali, Kamduni, and other incidents clearly show the recurring atrocities against women. The Chief Minister’s attitude towards these cases has been questionable. She has often either mocked or cast doubt on the character of the victims," Dr. Ganguly stated.

He went on to describe the new legislation as mere posturing by the TMC. "Introducing this bill is just for show. The Chief Minister seems to believe that all protests will fade away after this legislation is passed," he remarked.

Dr. Ganguly further criticized the state government's lack of cooperation with investigative agencies. "The CM should work with the CBI on these cases. Also, why is Sandip Ghosh still not suspended from the Health Department?" he questioned.

Dr. Ganguly’s comments reflect the BJP's skepticism about the effectiveness of the new bill and raise concerns over the state government's handling of women's safety issues.
