New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted permission for the Shiv Sena (UBT) party to accept public contributions. In an official communication today, the ECI authorized the party to "accept any amount of contribution voluntarily offered to it by any person or company other than a government company."

This authorization is in compliance with Section 29 B and Section 29C of the Representation of People Act, 1951, which regulates contributions to all political parties in India. These sections outline the legal framework for accepting voluntary contributions from the public, ensuring transparency and accountability in political financing.
