Delhi: Anil Trigunayat, former Ambassador of India to Jordan, Libya, and Malta, commented on the unfolding political situation in Bangladesh. In a statement, he said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country. This is for the people of Bangladesh to now decide how they wish to be run and how they wish to be politically moved."

Trigunayat elaborated on the current state of affairs, noting, "Today, the army has taken over and some kind of interim government of technocrats will be formed and hopefully, elections will be held. That’s extremely important."
