Jaipur: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot expressed confidence about Congress’s prospects in the upcoming Rajasthan by-elections. Gehlot, while addressing the media, attributed his optimism to the popularity of the state's welfare schemes, which have been emulated by other states across the country.
"I think we will win the by-elections because the schemes of our government are being adopted by states nationwide," Gehlot remarked, highlighting the broader influence of Congress-led initiatives. According to him, these schemes have had a substantial impact on people’s lives, and he believes this will be a key factor in ensuring a favorable outcome for Congress in the upcoming by-elections.
Gehlot further commented on the political atmosphere post-Haryana elections, subtly downplaying the BJP's sense of momentum. "Time will tell what situation is formed in the time to come, but I think BJP believes it is revived after Haryana. However, that is not the case, and I don't think an atmosphere will be created for their benefit," he added.
His remarks come at a crucial time for Rajasthan, where political dynamics remain fluid ahead of the by-elections. Gehlot’s comments reflect Congress's efforts to consolidate its position by emphasizing the success of its governance model while countering any resurgence by the BJP.
