Patna, Bihar: Union Minister Giriraj Singh has firmly countered National Conference president Farooq Abdullah's recent statement regarding Article 370. Singh declared, “Article 370 will never be reinstated in Jammu and Kashmir. The public of J&K has experienced significant positive changes since its abrogation.”
Singh's comments came in response to Abdullah’s remarks suggesting that the revocation of Article 370, which granted special autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir, should be reconsidered. The Union Minister emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 has led to transformative developments in the region. “The lives of people in J&K have transformed for the better after the abrogation of Article 370,” Singh asserted.
He criticized previous administrations, including the Congress-led government and leaders like Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, and the National Conference, accusing them of fostering an environment conducive to terrorism and unrest. “During the rule of Congress, J&K National Conference, and Mehbooba Mufti, terrorism and stone-pelting became rampant,” Singh claimed.
Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for restoring peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir post-abrogation. “PM Modi has shown that peace has been restored in J&K following the abrogation of Article 370,” he added.
The debate over Article 370 continues to be a contentious issue in Indian politics, with differing views on its impact and implications for the region. Singh’s comments reflect the ongoing political discourse surrounding the status and future of Jammu and Kashmir.
