Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently attended and addressed the inaugural session of the First International Symposium on Tribal Health (FIST 2025), organized by Maharashtra University for Health Sciences (MUHS) and AIIMS Nagpur. The event, which brought together key stakeholders in health and welfare, was attended by Maharashtra Minister for Tribal Welfare Ashok Uike, Vice Chancellor of MUHS Lt. Gen. Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar, and Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Nagpur Dr. Prashant Joshi, among other esteemed dignitaries.

In his address, CM Sawant highlighted the pressing issues concerning tribal health and the importance of creating a sustainable framework to address their unique challenges. He expressed his commitment to enhancing healthcare services for tribal communities, acknowledging the pivotal role that such symposiums play in raising awareness and fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, policymakers, and academic institutions.
