Chandigarh, Haryana: In a sharp critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini questioned the purpose of Gandhi’s visit to Haryana, pointing out his past statements on reservations and the alleged corruption during the Hooda government.
"Rahul Gandhi, who gave anti-reservation statements on foreign soil, is coming to Haryana on a political tour for 2-3 days," said Saini while addressing the media. The Chief Minister welcomed him to see the developments made in the state under the BJP’s governance over the last decade. "Haryana is a good place. In the last 10 years, the BJP government has developed Haryana in all directions. Therefore, he should come here and roam around and do his tourism," Saini remarked.
However, Saini quickly turned the focus to more serious issues, raising questions about Gandhi’s silence on controversies during the tenure of former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda. "The youth of Haryana will ask him why he is silent on the 'Kharchi, Parchi' that happened during Hooda's rule?" he asked, referring to alleged corruption and favoritism in job allocation.
Further, Saini took aim at Rahul Gandhi’s previous remarks against reservation policies, questioning his credibility in the eyes of the Dalit community. "The Dalits of Haryana will ask that after opposing reservation, with what face has he come to Haryana?" Saini said, suggesting that Gandhi owes answers to the public.
