ANM News, Bureau: On July 30, the India Post and Rashtraguru Surendranath College jointly organized a "Dak Baithak" (Postal Meeting) at the Vibhuti Bhushan Hall of the college in Barrackpore. Over the past few years, the Indian Postal Department has been focusing on women's empowerment through various social and economic initiatives under the "Postal Community Development Program." The Barrackpore Division of the Postal Department organized the entire event.

The meeting in Barrackpore was presided over by the Chief Post Master General of the West Bengal Circle, Mr. Neeraj Kumar. Ashok Kumar, Post Master General of Kolkata, was also present. Other notable attendees included BRS College President Mr. Deb Roy Chowdhury, Principal Mr. Manojit Roy, Chairman of North Barrackpore Municipality Mr. Malay Kumar Ghosh, Barrackpore Sub-Division SDO Mr. Saurabh Barik, Chamber of Commerce President Mr. Chiranjiv Ghosh, District Industries Center GM Mr. Sumit Chatterjee, and local councilor Mr. Abhijit Roy.

The primary objective of the meeting was to connect the Postal Department with women entrepreneurs working in various sectors of society, such as ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services), micro-savings schemes, and other savings areas. During the discussion, Mr. Neeraj Kumar highlighted how various government schemes of the Postal Department can be made suitable for women. The event saw enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from many college students. Senior Superintendent of the Barrackpore Division, Mr. Prabhat Banerjee, and Senior Postmaster Ms. Arpita Adhikari were in charge of the overall coordination of the meeting.
