Shimla: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has criticized the current Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, for not attending the recent NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi. Thakur described Sukhu's absence as "very unfortunate," emphasizing that such platforms are crucial for addressing issues related to the Union budget and state development.

Thakur alleged that political interference from Sukhu’s leaders in Delhi prevented him from participating in the meeting, which he believes is detrimental to Himachal Pradesh’s interests. He stressed the importance of maintaining a cordial relationship with the Centre to ensure ongoing development.

Thakur further criticized Sukhu's tenure, noting a halt in development projects since his administration took over. He urged that political issues should not overshadow developmental priorities and that constructive engagement with central agencies is essential for the state’s progress.
