Jharkhand DGP Confident in Security Measures Ahead of Independence Day

Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta assures robust security preparations for Independence Day, stating that the police have significantly reduced naxalism in the state, with only a small fraction remaining in forest areas.

Ranchi: Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta has expressed strong confidence in the state's security arrangements ahead of Independence Day. Speaking on the issue, Gupta stated, "Jharkhand Police is very well prepared and we have fought naxalism tooth and nail. We have finished 95 percent of the problem of naxalism in Jharkhand."

He further explained that the remaining five percent of naxal activity is limited to a few forest areas, and assured that ongoing operations are continuously targeting these groups. "We are very sure that they will not be able to disrupt the Independence Day celebrations," Gupta added, highlighting the police force's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for the festivities.
