Patna: Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) president and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar is free to enter politics if he chooses to, emphasizing that it wouldn’t be surprising given the trend of political legacies in India.
"In Indian, or Bihar politics, the sons and daughters of politicians have been entering politics. Nishant Kumar cannot be an exception. If he wants to come into politics, it is not surprising. I would individually welcome him," Manjhi stated.
His remarks come amid speculation about Nishant Kumar’s possible political debut, though the Bihar CM’s son has largely stayed away from active politics.
Separately, Manjhi also took a swipe at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav over a viral video in which Yadav allegedly asked a policeman to dance during Holi celebrations.
"The question is that this is the behaviour of the RJD people. They used to behave like that during their 'jungle raj'. This is reminiscent of the 'jungle raj',” Manjhi remarked, reiterating the BJP-led alliance’s frequent criticism of the RJD’s past governance in Bihar.
