Ranchi, Jharkhand – As the Jharkhand elections approach, a new controversy has emerged regarding Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s age declaration in his affidavit, igniting a political debate. Mahua Maji, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate from Ranchi, spoke out against the BJP, accusing the party of attempting to derail Soren’s leadership by diverting attention with personal accusations. Maji criticized BJP’s approach, asserting, "BJP has nothing to do with actual work. It only looks for loopholes of people.”

Maji suggested that BJP’s focus on Soren’s affidavit was a tactic to pit communities against each other and disrupt the administration led by the popular tribal leader. “They pit people against each other, they make them fight in the name of religion. The only agenda of the BJP is to disturb a popular, tribal leader,” she emphasized, further accusing BJP of fostering division.

The controversy has sparked varied responses across the political spectrum. BJP leaders argue that the affidavit issue raises legitimate concerns about transparency, while JMM supporters see it as a deliberate move to undermine the Chief Minister’s credibility. Maji, however, remained resolute, stating, “They can try anything but they won't ever succeed.”

This statement reflects the tension in Jharkhand’s political landscape as parties focus on critical issues related to governance, tribal leadership, and community harmony. Maji’s words underscore JMM's commitment to defending Soren’s administration, positioning it as a defender of tribal rights and integrity. The upcoming election will be crucial for both parties as they compete for public support, navigating the ongoing debates and controversies.
