New Delhi: BJP leader Kailash Gahlot launched a scathing critique of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the 'Sheesh Mahal' controversy, accusing it of compromising its foundational principles. Speaking to reporters, Gahlot said, “When I wrote a letter to Arvind Kejriwal, I clearly stated that this controversy is truly unfortunate. This reflects a significant compromise with the core principles of AAP.”
The 'Sheesh Mahal' controversy, involving allegations of lavish spending on official residences, has sparked widespread criticism of AAP’s governance. Gahlot seized the opportunity to question the party's commitment to transparency and accountability.
Addressing Delhi's ongoing civic challenges, Gahlot added, “People in Delhi are troubled because basic work has not been done—sewers are overflowing, drinking water is not being supplied, and roads are damaged.” He attributed these failings to the AAP-led government and claimed that the people of Delhi are now looking for change.
Expressing optimism for the BJP's prospects in the upcoming Delhi elections, Gahlot stated, “I am confident that the people of Delhi will make BJP win this time.”
The BJP leader's remarks come as both parties gear up for an intense electoral battle in the capital. While AAP seeks to defend its record, the BJP aims to capitalize on public dissatisfaction with civic infrastructure and governance.
With political rhetoric heating up, the elections promise to be a closely watched contest, shaping the future trajectory of Delhi’s administration.
