Karnataka: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has inaugurated the first phase of one of the state's most ambitious drinking water projects. Speaking at the event, Shivakumar emphasized the importance of the initiative, which began in 2014, and its potential to transform water supply in Karnataka.

"This drinking water scheme is one of the biggest projects of the state," Shivakumar stated, adding that water will flow through the system for a distance of up to 150 kilometers by the end of this year.

Shivakumar also shared the long-term vision for the project, announcing that it is expected to be fully completed by 2027. Once finalized, the project will significantly improve access to clean drinking water across the state, providing much-needed relief to affected regions.
