Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh has described the Bengaluru court's order to allow an FIR against Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over a poll bond extortion allegation as a "very serious development." Ghosh said, "We have been saying it from day one that the central government is misusing the central agencies... The responsibility must be taken by the union finance minister and also the Prime Minister."

In a separate statement, Ghosh addressed the recent suspension of TMC student wing leaders, commenting on the party’s decision regarding the RG Kar case. "There are many filmmakers, writers, and artists in our party. They all work independently. But, the problem is - RG Kar is a very sensitive issue, and the investigation is still ongoing. Hence, the party has not approved any film on that and asked the student wing to take necessary steps," Ghosh explained.

The RG Kar incident remains under investigation, and the TMC's decision highlights its cautious approach towards sensitive matters.
