Mumbai, March 10, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde hailed the Maharashtra Budget 2025-26 as a “Champion Budget”, comparing it to the state’s recent success in the Champions Trophy. Speaking on the budget presented by Finance Minister Ajit Pawar, Shinde emphasized its focus on overall development, job creation, and major infrastructure projects.

"The overall development witnessed in the last 2.5 years will continue with this 'arth sankalp.' This budget will contribute to PM Modi’s vision of 'Viksit Bharat,'" he said.

A key highlight of the budget is the ₹36,000 crore allocation for the Ladli Bahin Yojana, a welfare scheme aimed at empowering women. The budget also focuses on large-scale infrastructure development, with major investments in roads, railways, metro networks, ports, and airports.

Shinde announced that the Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to open in April, with another airport planned in Palghar. He also highlighted the Vadhavan Port project, calling it a “gamechanger” that will transform Maharashtra’s economic landscape and generate nearly 20 lakh jobs.

The budget also incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) to assist farmers and improve irrigation facilities, signaling a push for technological advancements in agriculture.
