Nagpur, Maharashtra: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today announced significant government measures to support farmers and boost development in the state. Fadnavis stated that 17 bills have been approved in the current legislative session, marking a major step towards the state's development agenda.

In a major boost for agriculture, the government has decided to assist 55,000 orange farmers with up to 3 hectares of land. This decision is expected to provide much-needed support to the citrus farming community. Additionally, 85 lakh farmers cultivating soybean and cotton have already received direct money transfers into their accounts, aiding them in their agricultural endeavors.

The CM also highlighted ongoing rehabilitation efforts for slum dwellers, with work underway to rehabilitate 25,000 slums in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) area. In a move to ease agricultural challenges, the state has set up 557 purchase centers for crops, with the purchasing process continuing until January 12.

These steps demonstrate the Maharashtra government's commitment to addressing both agricultural and urban issues while fostering long-term growth across the state.
