Patna, Bihar: Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav, has alleged receiving death threats for raising concerns about a hospital scam involving several officials. Speaking in Patna, Yadav stated, “There was a general secretary and a few officials who tried to stop me. I have their audio tapes.”
Yadav claimed that certain officials linked to the alleged scam are attempting to silence him, fearing exposure. "Some officials want to restrict me from telling the truth. There are a few other people who want to kill me for raising my voice," he said. Yadav emphasized that his decision to bring the matter to Parliament has heightened threats against him.
The MP asserted that he has provided all necessary evidence, including audio recordings, to the authorities. However, he expressed disappointment over the government’s inaction on the matter. “I have given all the reports, but the government is not doing anything,” Yadav said, adding that the lack of response is emboldening those who seek to harm him.
Known for his outspoken stance on social and political issues, Yadav has often criticized corruption and malpractices in governance. This latest allegation further underscores the challenges faced by whistleblowers in India.
Yadav's claims have sparked concern among his supporters and prompted calls for an impartial investigation into the threats and the alleged hospital scam. Meanwhile, political observers await the next move by the government and law enforcement agencies in addressing these serious allegations.
