Jammu and Kashmir: National Conference leader Sheikh Bashir Ahmad expressed the party's delight over Omar Abdullah's election as Chief Minister for a second term, following his selection as the Leader of the House by the legislature party. "National Conference is happy that Omar Abdullah is going to be the CM for the second time because the legislature party has elected him as the Leader of the House," he stated.
Ahmad highlighted the significance of the recent elections, noting, "These elections have been held after 10 years, and during this time, the National Conference has seen people being crushed under a bureaucratic setup." He emphasized the party's commitment to addressing the issues faced by the populace, stating, "People are happy that they are coming out of that bureaucratic setup."
He further mentioned that the National Conference has been celebrating the election results since October 8, underscoring the mandate received from the people to govern and bring about positive change in Jammu and Kashmir.
