By A Staff Reporter — In response to the devastation caused by Cyclone Dana and subsequent flooding in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led an aerial survey over the affected regions, closely examining the extensive damage across Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Mayurbhanj districts. Accompanying CM Majhi were Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management Suresh Pujari and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, who joined him in evaluating the impacted areas and strategizing relief measures.
During the survey, Majhi observed significant damage to both public and private infrastructure, including homes, roadways, and farmlands. Heavy rains and high-speed winds have left several communities struggling with displacement and the loss of essential resources. The assessment covered regions particularly hit by floodwaters that have disrupted livelihoods, strained local resources, and created immediate safety concerns for residents.
Following the survey, the Chief Minister expressed his commitment to expedited relief efforts. He indicated that plans are underway to ensure basic amenities, food supplies, and medical assistance reach those in need without delay. Majhi also highlighted that temporary shelters are being set up, and disaster response teams have been mobilized to offer on-ground support to affected families.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari affirmed the government’s readiness to work with local agencies to streamline the rehabilitation process. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja also noted that a detailed report on the damages would be compiled to prioritize areas in urgent need of intervention.
