PATNA: Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, launched a sharp attack on Bihar’s law and order situation on Friday, claiming that the state has descended into chaos while political leaders shield criminal elements.

“When leaders worship criminal mafias, what can we expect from law and order? There is no such thing as law and order left in Bihar. The people of Bihar are now relying on fate,” Yadav stated, expressing deep concern over rising crime and governance failures.

At the same time, he took a somewhat conciliatory tone toward Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, attributing his struggles to age and health issues. “I believe that due to age and illness, Nitish Ji is struggling, and mistakes happen. At this age, he should be forgiven rather than criticised,” he added.

The remarks come amid growing public dissatisfaction over law and order in Bihar, with recent incidents of violent crimes sparking outrage. Opposition parties have consistently targeted the state government over its alleged inability to curb criminal activities.

Yadav, known for his outspoken nature, has often positioned himself as a people’s leader, advocating for stricter governance measures. His latest statement reflects both frustration over Bihar’s security situation and an unexpected empathy for the veteran chief minister, who continues to face political and administrative challenges.
