New Delhi: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his Parliament attendance and punctuality, stating that he has not been regular since becoming an MP.
“Rahul Gandhi does not even attend Parliament regularly. I have been in the Lok Sabha for 20 years. Rahul Gandhi and I became MPs in the same year, but even then, he never arrived on time. Even now, he comes for only 10 minutes,” Joshi said.
Responding to allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's microphone is deliberately turned off in Parliament, Joshi dismissed the claims, asserting, “Is the Prime Minister's mic always on? The mic is only on when the Speaker allows it.”
The remarks come amid heated political exchanges between the ruling BJP and Congress, with both parties accusing each other of disrupting parliamentary proceedings. Rahul Gandhi has frequently criticized the government over democratic functioning in Parliament, while BJP leaders have countered by questioning his engagement in legislative affairs.
