New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar has expressed her gratitude to the Supreme Court for granting bail to Vijay Nair, who has spent 23 months in jail. Speaking at a press conference, Kakkar criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what she described as a deliberate attempt to defame AAP leaders through the so-called liquor scam.
"Vijay Nair has been granted bail after spending 23 months in jail. I thank the Supreme Court for this bail," Priyanka Kakkar said. "This is the very so-called liquor scam, in which the BJP tried to defame us. Sanjay Singh was in jail for six months, Manish Sisodia was in jail for 17 months, and Vijay Nair has been relieved after 23 months, while Arvind Kejriwal is still in jail."
Kakkar further claimed that there has been no recovery or evidence to substantiate the allegations made in the case. She accused the BJP of using legal means to target and imprison AAP leaders without basis.
The AAP spokesperson’s comments come amidst a backdrop of ongoing legal battles and also the political controversy, highlighting the party's stance against what it sees as unjust actions by its political opponents.
