Amid rumours circulating about Punjab BJP president Sunil Kumar Jakhar's resignation, the party’s in-charge, Vijay Rupani, dismissed the reports as baseless. Addressing the media, Rupani clarified, "He (Sunil Kumar Jakhar) has not resigned, nor has the party received any resignation."
Rupani emphasized that the reports of Jakhar stepping down are unfounded. "The news circulating is nothing but a rumour, there’s no doubt about that," he said, putting an end to the speculations.
Explaining Jakhar’s absence from a recent meeting, Rupani shared that Jakhar had traveled to Delhi for personal reasons. "Jakhar sahib went to Delhi for personal reasons, which is why he couldn’t attend today’s meeting," Rupani stated, ensuring that Jakhar continues to hold his position.
He further reinforced the strength of the leadership under Jakhar. "He is our president, and under his leadership, we are running the party in Punjab," Rupani concluded.
This statement comes as a reassurance to BJP supporters in Punjab, affirming that Sunil Kumar Jakhar remains at the helm of the party's state leadership.
