The Chief Minister was initially admitted with suspected tropical fever, and subsequent tests confirmed the diagnosis of leptospirosis.

Dr. Jaswal stated, "The Chief Minister had shown signs of significant improvement in his clinical parameters and has responded well to treatment for the increase in pulmonary artery pressure."
