Chandigarh — Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led state government over an FIR registered against Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa. Addressing the media on Monday, Warring accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of misusing state machinery to settle political scores.

“Bhagwant Mann was looking for an opportunity,” Warring said, alleging that the FIRs filed against various opposition leaders, including BJP’s Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, Congress’s Alka Lamba, and former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, were all acts of “revenge politics.”

He claimed that these are not isolated incidents, stating, “There are thousands of such cases filed against opposition members which are in front of you.”

Warring defended Bajwa’s legal action, saying, “It is our fundamental right to approach the court. What option do we have?” He confirmed that Bajwa has already filed a petition in the High Court to challenge the FIR.

Signalling a ramp-up in the pressure tactics, Warring warned the state government of sustained agitation. “This protest will not happen in just one place. It will happen all over Punjab. We won’t let the AAP government and Bhagwant Mann sleep,” he declared.
