Railway Minister Highlights Kavach Safety System

Jaipur, Rajasthan | During a recent address, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw provided insights into the development and implementation of the Kavach safety system, which has been in progress since 2016. He explained that the system underwent significant development and certification until 2019, with further improvements made over the years. The latest version, Kavach 4.0, received approval on August 16 and has been successfully installed on the railway line between Sawai Madhopur and Kota.

Vaishnaw emphasized the importance of this technological advancement, stating, "If the train is approaching a red signal and the driver is not paying attention, then Kavach will automatically apply the brakes." He added that rigorous testing had been conducted to ensure the system's reliability and effectiveness.

The introduction of Kavach represents a major leap forward in railway safety, addressing critical areas of concern and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Vaishnaw expressed confidence that this system would significantly improve safety measures within Indian Railways, ultimately protecting passengers and reducing the likelihood of accidents caused by human error. This initiative aligns with the government's broader goals of modernizing rail infrastructure and ensuring safer travel for all passengers.
