New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha on Tuesday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address in the Lok Sabha on the Maha Kumbh, accusing him of delivering a monologue instead of engaging in a dialogue. He also questioned the PM’s silence on the people who lost their lives during the grand religious event.

"This was a monologue, not a dialogue, as he (PM Modi) does not believe in dialogue… He should have at least spoken two words about those who lost their lives in the Maha Kumbh. This would have sent a message that the government is sensitive," Jha remarked.

PM Modi, while speaking in Parliament, had praised the successful organization of Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, thanking the people and government functionaries for their contributions. However, the opposition, led by Jha, accused him of failing to acknowledge the hardships and casualties associated with the event.

The Maha Kumbh, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, witnessed a massive turnout, and reports suggested that infrastructure challenges and overcrowding led to unfortunate incidents. While the government hailed the event’s organization as a success, opposition leaders demanded accountability for any lapses that may have led to casualties.
