Maharashtra: Speaking at the party's Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut raised serious concerns about the recent election results in Haryana. Raut alleged that there was electronic voting machine (EVM) fraud that led to an unexpected victory for the BJP despite initial projections favoring the Congress.
"In the Haryana elections, the Election Commission website showed the Congress leading with 72 seats in the morning, but by the afternoon, the BJP had formed the government. How did this miracle happen?" asked Raut, insinuating that EVM manipulation was the reason behind the sudden shift in results.
He emphasized that such tactics would not work in Maharashtra. "This is only EVM fraud, nothing else, but this will not happen in the Maharashtra elections," Raut declared, exuding confidence that the state's electoral process would not be compromised.
Raut's remarks come amid growing concerns among opposition leaders about electoral transparency, particularly involving EVMs. His statements also aim to galvanize support for Shiv Sena (UBT) ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra elections, where the party looks to challenge the ruling BJP government.
