In the lead-up to the Maharashtra elections in 2024, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC has taken a strong stand against fellow politician Arvind Sawant, filing a First Information Report (FIR) at the Nagpada Police Station under Sections 79 and 356 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, Shaina expressed her frustration over Sawant's remarks, stating, “I’ve been in politics for the last 20 years. I had two options - first was to quietly listen to Arvind Sawant's remarks.”

Shaina pointed out that Amin Patel, a colleague, was present during Sawant's comments and appeared to find amusement in the situation, further aggravating her concerns. She emphasized her dedication to her political career and her unwillingness to accept disrespect.

Additionally, she directed her ire towards Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, questioning his remarks regarding her family. “I would like to tell him that three generations of my family have spent their entire life in South Mumbai,” she declared, underscoring her family's deep roots in the community.

The escalating tensions between political factions in Maharashtra highlight the charged atmosphere leading up to the elections, as leaders navigate personal grievances and public perceptions. Shaina NC's actions reflect a growing trend of politicians taking a stand against perceived slights as they gear up for a crucial electoral battle. The FIR filed adds a legal dimension to the ongoing political drama, emphasizing the contentious nature of the current political climate in Maharashtra.
