Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey has called out the Maharashtra government for what he described as a hypocritical stance on the Muslim community. Dubey highlighted the contradictions in the government's actions and rhetoric, particularly targeting Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar's recent statements.

"On one side, Devendra Fadnavis accuses Muslims of engaging in 'vote jihad' and 'love jihad,' yet on the other side, this government has increased the salary of Madrasa teachers from Rs 6,000 to Rs 16,000," Dubey said. He also pointed to Ajit Pawar's earlier commitment to reserving a 10% quota for minorities, including Muslims, in ticket distribution, alleging that the government is trying to appease the community while simultaneously making divisive remarks.

Dubey accused the government of playing a "dual character," catering to Muslim interests in one breath while alienating them in another. "This government wants to please Muslims but then turns around and speaks hatefully because they don't vote for them. Why this dual character?" he questioned, urging the administration to clearly state their position on the community.

Concluding his remarks, Dubey asserted that the people of Maharashtra are observing these inconsistencies closely, implying that such actions could have long-term political repercussions for the ruling alliance.
