Ayodhya, UP: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP from Faizabad (Ayodhya), Awadhesh Prasad, has dismissed the allegations against his son, Ajit Prasad, who was named in an FIR registered at the Kotwali Nagar police station for allegedly kidnapping a man. Speaking about the case, Awadhesh Prasad called it "baseless and false."

He linked the case to the upcoming Milkipur by-elections, where his son has been given the ticket by SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav to contest. Prasad accused the BJP of orchestrating the FIR in a bid to harm his son's election prospects.

"BJP knows they will not be able to win the elections from the Milkipur seat, so they have registered a baseless case against my son. There is no truth in the case," said the MP, expressing confidence in his son's innocence and electoral chances.

The situation has added tension as the Milkipur by-elections approach.
