Shimla: In response to allegations made by Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu clarified the purpose of drone activity in Shimla, attributing it to a water management project rather than surveillance. During a press interaction, CM Sukhu addressed concerns raised by Thakur, who claimed that his house was being spied on through drones.

"He raised the question that my house is being spied on through drones. Drone mapping of the entire Shimla is being done by Shimla Water Management Corporation," stated CM Sukhu, explaining the ongoing efforts to map Shimla using drones for water management purposes. "But he does not accept this thing," he added, suggesting a misunderstanding or unwillingness to acknowledge the project’s legitimate aim.

CM Sukhu also criticized the opposition's conduct in the state assembly, accusing them of not engaging constructively. "The opposition does not know what to do... They come to the House to walk out, they do not come to the House to raise public issues," he remarked. Emphasizing the government’s readiness to address all concerns, he urged the opposition to present their issues in the assembly rather than staging walkouts. "We are ready to answer all their questions," he concluded.
