Delhi: The Supreme Court has declined to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam, a decision welcomed by the Union Ministry of Education. Union Minister of State for Education, Sukanta Majumdar, expressed approval of the court's order, which maintains the integrity of the examination process.

"First of all, we welcome this order. Our Ministry had this stand that we will follow whatever order is given by the court," Majumdar said. He highlighted Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's commitment to transparency, noting that the Ministry supports a full investigation into any allegations of misconduct.

"The important part of this order is that CJI DY Chandrachud observed that there is nothing as such on record through which it could be said that there was a large-scale leakage or a breach in the procedure," Majumdar added. This observation by the Chief Justice underscores the integrity and transparency of both the government and the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Majumdar also addressed the concerns of students, stating, "Students who were anxious will now be relieved." The court's decision provides reassurance to those who were worried about the potential cancellation of the exam.
